Xiaomi's Redmi series has been wildly popular over the past few years and for good reason. The low prices and good features have really set these models apart, and even other Chinese players have found them hard to compete with. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 might be a budget smartphone but there's certainly nothing low-end about the hardware it packs. This is the first phone to roll out with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 650 SoC, which is a pretty big deal given its near-flagship level performance in some benchmarks.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 SoC which houses a hexa core processor, with a dual core Cortex A72 processor clocked at 1.8GHz and a quad-core Cortex A53 processor clocked at 1.4GHz. This SoC still uses the 28nm fabrication process, But this is paired with newer Adreno 510 GPU ensures a smooth performance while gaming as well. In one varient bit is included with 2 GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage capacity and in other varient has 3 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage capacity. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 is getting with MIUI 7 Skin Based on Android 5.1.0 functionality. There isn’t any drastic difference from the MIUI 6 previous version, but we do see some finesse on the OS. Xiaomi has added on a lot more Indian themes to the MIUI 7 for starters. MIUI 7 supports up to 13 indic languages. It's still a single-layered interface, but it does let users customise the look and feel with transition effects and themes.

The phone comes with a 5.50-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1080 pixels by 1920 pixels at a PPI of 403 pixels per inch with very narrow side bezels.. The Display is full HD IPS LCD display with a good contrast ratio and decent black levels. The colours look natural and it has a cool viewing angles. There is no Corning Gorilla Glass protection, but the display is scratch resistant. The redmi note 3 used Sunlight Display technology which makes adjustments to the display at a pixel level so that you see a balanced image in bright outdoors. This is on by default and works when you are out in bright sunlight and want to photograph, without having to shade your phone. if you read some article on phone than Reading mode helps reduce the blue light being emitted to reduce the eye fatigue, by adding a yellow tinge to the display.

As far as the cameras are concerned, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 packs a 16-megapixel primary camera on the rear with an aperture of f/2.0 and a 5-megapixel front shooter for selfies.The rear camera comes with phase-detect auto-focus function which works great in well lit situations, but struggles in low light. Xiaomi has added on the timelapse and slow motion feature for video shooting as well along with a fullHD video recording support. The disadvantage of redmi note 3 is that the camera just refuses to give sharp images. It takes time to lock on focus and if you are in the HDR mode, then unless you have rock steady hands, forget getting a remotely sharp image. The camera app is simple to use and has plenty of shooting modes. It is quick to launch, it is fast to take a photo, and its interface is pretty straightforward, with a large, easy-to-hit shutter button.

Xiaomi has done a terrific job with the design and aesthetics of the Redmi Note 3. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 sports an all metal body and has rounded edges along the sides. it is cool hand feel of the phone as there are no sharp edges around the phone. Everything is nicely rounded. There's a glossy rim running along the edge of the front facia, which is elevated above the rest of the display to protect it from scratches when the phone is placed face-down. It's a nice design touch. The round fingerprint scanner is located just below the camera on the rear side and they are aligned to be placed in the centre. Fingerprint scanner works fine and is quick. We rarely had to keep adjusting the finger position for the scanner to unlock. You can also use the fingerprint scanner to click photographs or even lock apps, which is an interesting feature. The dual LED flash unit is located in between the camera and the fingerprint scanner. The base has the speaker section and there’s a slight protrusion chin just below to ensure there is a gap between speaker section and the flat surface its placed on.

On the left hand edge of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 you have the dual SIM card slots, which is hybrid dual SIM Card slot (GSM and GSM) smartphone that accepts Nano-SIM and Micro-SIM and can take in two 4G SIM cards. The phone uses a standard Micro-USB connector for charging and data transfers. on the right hand edge you have the volume rocker and power standby buttons. Even the volume rocker and power/standby buttons are metallic with chamfered edges.The top edge has the 3.5mm audio jack and an infrared blaster for controlling IR home appliances. Also on the top along with a notification LED for alerts. It supports voice over LTE (VoLTE), Wi-fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2 LE, FM radio, infrared port, GPS with AGPS and so on. NFC is one feature that's missing.Also the phone include Compass Magnetometer, Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, Ambient light sensor and Gyroscope Xiaomi has given you the option to add in a microSD card to expand the storage Upto 32 GB.

Xiaomi has incorporated a one-handed mode, which you can enter or exit by simply swiping right from the capacitive Home button. You can even choose the size to which you want the display to shrink. The phone comes with a preloaded app called Mi Mover which lets you move apps and data to or from any other Android device. It Is also used Fleksy Keybord, which turned out to be much better than expected. It is shipped with some basic productivity tool along with some additional ones such as Mi Remote. This lets you set up the IR emitter for various infrared-capable devices. The Mi Store app is a marketplace for all Xiaomi products sold in India. The Security app lets you monitor data usage and run basic maintenance tasks. You also get Facebook, WPS Office, and the usual Google apps.

The Redmi Note 3 comes with a 4050mAh non-removable Li-Polymer battery. It manages to retain the battery life really well. It is easily go over a day and more, with a single charge, despite using the phone to watch videos, update social apps and listen to music for hours. If you want to still extend the battery life further, you get some Battery saver modes as well.

Redmi Note 3 excels in the performance department when compared with competition in this price range.There's no denying that the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 is a great deal in its homeland.
